The Gold Star Fridge
'Gold Star Fridge' is a pop up gallery consisting of a white kitchen refrigerator, honoring a playful, improvisational, yet personally intimate spirit of assemblage. In the Spring of 2025, I was invited by Gold Star Fridge visionaries Corinne Beardsley and Sludge Thunder to bring the fridge to life for Upstate Arts Weekend. I imagined the inside of a refrigerator as a stage for surprise, humor, and imagination, as I created miniature scenes which invite you to envision hidden universes within our everyday experiences. The pieces I created exist individually as photograph, and also as the integrated refrigerator installation.
